Thanks Terry!
Since my last posting I came accross a local cue maker Chip Nieman, and he put on a Talisman Medium for me. WOW!!! I felt like I couldn't miss the first couple of racks I tried it on. I play with a cheap sneaky pete & I'm not a hot-shot, but this feels incredible. I have taken to chalking every time in my pre shot routine & have not had any miscue. Previously I was frequently miscueing when I tried another layered tip. If my game keeps progressing I may reward myself & have Chip Nieman build me one of his custom cues.
Hi George, thanks for joining the group. I think tips are so personal and varied that it's hard to give advice about them. I enjoy a hard tip like buffalo hide, I feel that with them I get more action on my englished shots, but I hate layered tips which are generally hard. Mine were always de-laminating also. If you liked the feel of the layered tip try a buffalo hide tip. You can find several on the net, but remember to chalk up after every shot. The harder tips just don't retain the chalk.
I live in Jacksonville, Fl. I would like to meet up with anyone that wants to play straight pool or one pocket. I'm a beginner at both, but really want to play more.
