San Diego Senior Olympics
I am the Assistant Director and Billiards Commissioner for the San Diego Senior Sports Festival a 501 C.3 non-profit organization. Our tax I.D. Number is 33-0490481. We are a community based organization whose mission is to encourage senior adults, aged 50 or older, to carry on vigorous lives by developing and maintaining high levels of physical and mental fitness through the regular participation in sports, fitness, and health education activities. Remember we are from the Baby-Boomer Generation and comprise about 50% of the population.
Our Primary event is The San Diego Senior Olympics Games. This year we expect over 1,300 athletes to compete during our May and September events. An additional 1,500 will participate as volunteers, spectators, and coaches. We are the only organization in San Diego who offers older adults the opportunity to compete in multiple Olympic style-sporting events.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite any one interested to contact me about signing up as a Participant, Volunteer, or interested in helping to sponsor an event. We would be proud to feature your organization and any of your members that decide to support our efforts in our entry books, on our website, on T-Shirts, and at the game venues. This would offer a WIN-WIN situation for all of us.
As a non-profit organization, we are self-supporting and receive no funding from either the city or state. As such we look to outside supporters to provide funds to underwrite our programs so that we can continue to offer them to our senior athletes at a minimum cost. It is the generosity of people like you that have made these games a success over the last 23 years.
We are changing lives, building better futures, and giving people an opportunity to continue to challenge themselves. We hope that your organization will support our efforts to continue to better the lives of our California Seniors.
